I know how you feel pie. Last time I went to the dentist's office, the lady working on me did such a painful job that I ended up gripping my own arm so tightly that it was numb for about 20 minutes after the appointment. I also remember the time I had a filling split one of my molars in two pieces. It had to be capped, which meant enough novacaine in my mouth to keep half my face numbed for the rest of the day. I honestly fear going to the dentist nowadays. At least it's spurred me to do a better job of brushing and flossing.

At least the dentist aint the doctor. They walk around all high and proud 'cause they got a rectal thermometer in their pocket. Like it's a symbol of authority. "Hey, I can shove this up your ass."

I should mention that the filling that split that tooth of mine was put in by that dentist. And he looked at me like it was my fault his work broke my tooth in two.

As for the doctor, as long as I don't have to deal with needles I'm ok. Actually, pretty much anything that gets put in me I'm adverse to. So I guess that includes rectal thermometers as well.

Cross your fingers. I am applying for a job this week... one that I actually want and pays decently.

As for dental procedures, I always enjoyed freaking people out when I was numb. After I got my first root canal, my whole top lip could have fallen off and I wouldn't know. "Hey Mom, look! I can shove this staw into my lip and not even feel it!" Remind me someday to tell you all about how I almost got my husband beat up after I had my wisdom teeth out.

wow taht sucks pie, i just got my teeth cleaned last week. no cavites/

but ive had 4 or 5 cavities before and i know from exprience u want novicaine. all of my cavities i went novicaine free since i had to go to back to school rite after i got them out. so i decided i didnt want half my face sliding down w/ drool running out of it. bad idea! it hurts so bad, the pain was almost unbearable. stupid thing to do yet i did it 3 more tiems after the first time. next time i go im getting novicaine, it hurts so bad if u dont i hate it. not only can u hear them drilling into yur tooth u can FEEL it and it HURTS!!!!! yes i know laugh at me and call me stupid casue it was but IMO never go w/o novicaine!

novocaine ftw! the last time someone used novocaine on me, i kind of twitched in a way. so as a result, the needle slipped out of my gums and the novocaine trickled down my throat.....

ughh...

haha. good times. it still hurt like a ....yeah. when they removed my tooth, though....
